More than a dance lesson;
It's a new approach to
DANCING WITH LIFE
Welcome to DANCING with Life! We are the exclusive provider of DANCEPL3Y School Curriculum Programs across British Columbia.
We offer Dancepl3y school workshops, local classes and birthday parties, Youth Leadership Camps, DANCEPL3Y Instructor trainings and conference presentations, volunteer trips to Living Positive Kenya, female empowerment workshops and so much more!
We want children, youth, and women to have a positive experience with dance, to feel confident, and to BE THEMSELVES.
Dancing with Life uses DANCEPL3Y as its main program and platform to increase self-esteem, improve mental health, teach physical literacy, increase emotional intelligence, and create relationships and community. We believe in the power of music, dance, and leadership to help all youth become better versions of themselves. Our goal is for Dancing With Life participants to reap the benefits of increased self- esteem, acceptance of others, and the confidence to be themselves! They will leave our programs feeling energized, accepted, and inspired.
Dancing with Life was created by Brooke Yantzi to help women, youth, and kids become better versions of themselves and learn how to love themselves.
From a young age Brooke struggled with depression, anxiety, bulimia, and unhealthy body image. To say she didn't love herself was an understatement. As a youth, she had some incredible mentors and role models who were pivotal in her development.
Her journey to find happiness and self-love, lead her to a degree in Psychology, focusing on young women, children and youth, and holistic healing. Brooke’s lifelong passion for dance took her to over 23 different countries throughout her studies.
For over 15 years, Brooke has trained instructors of all ages, connected with youth in indigenous communities, and worked with educators in the school system to bring movement into the classroom.
She has taught over 100,000 students programs focusing on mental health, positive psychology and building community through dance. Over the past 7 years she has travelled to Kenya countless times in order to work and create with an amazing community of women and children with HIV/Aids in the Ngong Slum. Through dance, they build community, promote health, increase happiness, and educate about oppressive subjects and discrimination.
Brooke's expertise has been pivotal in creating incredible experiences for youth and women all across the globe.
We've taught over 7500 Students in our first year to
Be Positive. Be Fun. and Be Themselves!
